Lee and \"Stonewall\" Jackson who achieved fame as Confederate Army generals during the United States Civil War. The Army stamp features the two generals andthe Stratford Hall plantation which was the birthplace of General Lee. In addition, there is the Navy stamp featuring the three prominent Navy Admirals Sampson, Dewey and Schley who commanded their ships during the Spanish-American War, The unsealed cacheted envelope features both stamps cancelled on their first day of issue in Washington, D.C. on March 23, 1937.
