A hand-colored Steel Engraving after a painting by Christian Schussele (1824-1879) titled \"General George B McClellan on the Battlefield of Antietam\", circa 1863. The print was engraved by A.B. Walter and published by John Dainty. An inscription in the margin reads, \"Entered according to act of Congress by John Dainty in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in the Year 1863. PROOF.\" The print in presented under glass and a purple mat with a gold tone border; set in a moulded frame.
Condition: Fair
Scratches and chips to frame; water damage to lower edge of frame and mat; print was not examined outside of frame; drill holes to sides of frame from previous mounting; dirt under glass.
