An old time example of native gold from this historic South Dakota locale!!! This is a group of three individual specimens that consist of quartz that is richly intergrown with native gold!!! The native gold is present as brilliant, sheet-like masses that are intimately intergrown with the associated quartz matrix!!! The quartz has slight translucence, allowing one to see the sheets of native gold that appear to be folded within!!! This group of specimens is from the collection of Joe Cilen and retains its original label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
