Coconut and hand-carved wood ladle from the Philippines:

This lovely coconut ladle is fitted with a nicely carved wood handle with a wooden bell attached at the end, carved from the same piece of wood as the handle. The bell has one clapper missing; but it could easily be replaced, as the clappers are the only part that is not carved from one piece of wood. The ladle is about 19 inches long, and the bell hangs down about three inches. The coconut bowl is about 6 inches in diameter. It was acquired when we lived in the Philippines in the 1960s. I don\'t think it has ever been used. This is a unique piece of Philippiniana.
