Col.Calvin P. Titus Gorham Stirling Silver Pitcher with Correspondence :
$3000.00

This is a Stirling Silver pitcher with the initials of Col. Calvin P. Titus and Department of the Army correspondence and proposed press release in the event of Colonel Titus\' death addressed to Colonel Titus\' son. Colonel Titus served in the 14th Infantry and was famous for scaling the Peking Wall alone and under fire. He was the first to breach the defenses that then led to the end of the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. Colonel Titus had a long military career including attending the Military Academy, receiving the Medal of Honor from President Theodore Roosevelt and serving General Pershing during WWI. While not substantiated by documentation, It would appear from the design that this pitcher was cast from the silver ingots awarded to the 14th Infantry by the Chinese Government for removing the \"Boxer\" threat from the Imperial City and then later melted down into silver sets.
