Up for sale is a completed Needlepoint Picture - Counted Cross Stitch. A lovely picture of a group of pansies and other flowers in the shape of a heart. It is just a lovely floral sampler. It is done on linen. The fabric is stretched and mounted onto plywood backing. There is a double mat with the outside portion being ivory and the inner accent of dark green.

The size is 16 x 16. It is ready to frame. The mat, however, has some marks that may or may not be noticable when it is framed and hung on the wall. It is covered in plastic to protect the embroidery and the pastic was not removed to take the photo.

On the back there is a label from the company indicating that this is from the JCA Needle Treasures Collection and was a stamped cross stitch. The title was PANSY WREATH and the kit number was 05711. This was shipped to the stores November 1988. Also there is a label indicating that this was the photo model.

That is what makes this so unique in that it was the original hand crafted model which was used to take a photo that went onto the kit packaging.

Have not found this particular kit anywhere ont he internet for sale and since the company is no longer manufacturing these kits, finding it in the future is pretty slim.

This picture was a model to a kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished. It was covered in plastic when displayed to protect the picture and still is. I was able to acquire quite a few of them; some were just matted and others framed. It still has the original plastic used to protect it.

I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:
