a unique specimen rock from the Cripple Creek Co. mining district! this is a roasted ore rock which about half of it is a crystalline structure literally covered with gold tellurides the other half more like quartz with gold tellurides heavily laden in sylvanite, this rock weighs 11.96 ounces and is approx. 2.5 inches across by 3 inches high and about 3.5 wide (approximately) i do\'nt know if the gold was brought out onto the crystals by the roasting process or by nature or if it really is gold tellurides or a form of native gold but it is definitely gold you are seeing in the pictures!!! not pyrite or some b.s. this rock is over the top of any i have ever seen from the Cripple Creek District other than something in a museum maybe!! i simply cannot express it enough how awesome a specimen this is!! i have seen lots of ore rocks from this area and i sometimes crush and pan them down a little trying to get some of that gold but this rock is way to nice to do that to! i have some other specimens from the same area i will be listing soon including some other high grade and some very nice calaverite!!! some of these pictures were taken by attaching a jewelers loop or magnifying glass to my camera lens it was the only way i could come up with to show whats in this rock it is an ugly black looking rock but at the same time it is amazingly beautiful!!! if you purchase i\'m 100% positive you will be happy with it!!!!! so you know we offer 2 wks. $$$ back you pay return freight!!! no b.s. please!!! feel free to email any questions ( do\'nt ask me where i found it!! i wo\'nt tell! ) other than on private property with the owners permission!! thanks for your interest in this 1 of kind gold specimen rock!!!! -------J added --the purple color you see on a couple of the pictures is not there ---this must have came from my lamp or it being a cheap camera ....someone else who has some geological knowledge told me that these could be calaverite crystals so i dont know
