probably not made by Johannes Hansen but appears to have all the same design elements
as a Hans Wegner chair with the exception of the corner blocks (pictured). All the same,
this chair appears to be 1950\'s vintage and looks virtually identical to a licensed version. Also
this chair has recently been recaned by Cane and Basket in Los Angeles. The chair is constructed
of oak and wicker. At one point they were upholstered by someone who didn\'t know what they were doing
and some of the staple holes are visible (pictured). Also the center cross stretcher underneath has an old
repair (pictured). The finish is original and the grain of the oak is deep and figural. This chair is very sturdy
with no wobbles or loose joints.This chair has a wonderful and warm patina and make a great Danish Modern
statement. This is a very nice example of a rare chair.
