It isan item from our late father’s estate. He was a collector of fine oldstring instruments and bows, as well as many art objects. This unique piece is one of them!
Thisremarkable, original oil painting of Don Quixote by famous American artist GeorgeCrionas (1925– 2004) is matted and framed, and it has been in safe storagesince our parents passed away in 1992 and 1993.
The frameof this treasure measures a huge 30” high by 25” wide, and ithas been authenticated by Patrician Publications of Chatsworth, CA who fixedtheir signed certificate to the back of the frame. (Please see photos.)
Many ofMr. Crionas’ works have been reproduced as lithographs and signed as limitededitions, but this piece has not been marketed in thatway. We have not been able to find a likenessof it anywhere on the internet, so we suspect that it may have been a commissionedwork, which makes it even more unique and valuable.
