DURAND ART GLASS COIL VASE
For your consideration is astunning DURAND “COIL” Art Glass Vase, circa mid 1920’s.
It has a footed baluster form body with a fire polished flared rim. The color combination of the blues and gold/brown swirls on a cream ground creates a beautiful decor. The vase has fire finished, pinched/flared top rim with abrilliantgold interior.There is a nicely polished pontil on the bottom; no signature was detected though not uncommon for the early pieces. Durand Art Glass was only produced for about 7 years (1924-1931) and the majority of their early work was unsigned with most having paper labels.It measures approx. 9.25” tall.
The vase is in excellent condition having no chips, cracks or repairs with very minimal age related wear.
A fine example of why Victor Durand’s Art Glass is so highly admired and collected.
