Debain: Antique French Sterling Silver 12pc Tea Spoons Set - Boxed:
$430.00

Lovely antique French Belle Epoque era sterling silver 12pc tea spoons set with ornate Rococo or Louis XV style pattern crafted by notable Parisian silversmith Alphonse Debain, active from 1883. The set is complete and finely housed in the original presentation or storage box. The handles feature rococo motifs, charming scrolling foliate and petite flowers, monogrammed with interlaced initials in fanciful script. In very good antique condition, some slight surface scuffs indicative of light use, but dents, damage or repairs to note. Dimensions: Spoons: 5 1/4\" (13,5cm) long x 1\" (2,6cm) wide at bowl. Total weight of the silver is 300gr. Total weight of 12 pieces with box is 890gr.

They are fully made of finest quality French sterling silver, hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and a higher finesse than .925 sterling). The silversmith marks are for Alphonse Debain, active from 1883 to 1911 at 79 rue du Temple in Paris.

Original fitted presentation box with silk & velvet lined interior. The case does show its age a bit, but is entirely intact with just some minor scuffs & some scraping to the veneer.
