So shabby chic and timeworn, with original French grey painting peeling off deliciously...

Simply decadent !!! This antique French gesso plaque dates back to end of years 1800. It was probably a sampler shown by a local craftsman who found easier to frame it for carrying since it is a fragile item. Very good idea since it is now ready to hang to the wall !!!

It is a pure merveille and features a stunning double arched floral garland of cabbage roses
tied in the middle with a Marie-Antoinette bow and trailing ribbons, and a central rose swag dripping down beautifully
There are also petite pieces of ribbon on either sides

The roses are incredibly detailed and well-raised

There is some chipping to the lower raised roses, nothing that detracts, see pictures6 & 7

This gorgeous confectionis absolutely superb with the oldFrench greyfinish,
distressed and peeling off on the shabby rustic frame

Measurements are :9\"1/4 H x 28\"1/4 L x 1\"1/2 deep (24cm H x 72cm L x 4cm épaisseur)
