Doulton Burslem England dinner plate in the ALMA Asian-style pattern - florals in rusts, blues, blacks upon a white porcelain plate. In excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or breaks. There is crazing. Measures 10\" in diameter. Mark explained below, there is also an impressed number 10-09, as well as an impressed round stamp with the word DOULTON across the center and BURSLEM around the top, ENGLAND around the bottom. Black maker\'s stamp explained below, described by China Finders as:
The coronet was probably added to the earlier mark c. 1886 to mark the appointment of Henry Doulton as \'Potter to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales\' (later King Edward VI 1), ENGLAND was added underneath after 1891. This mark continued in use until 1902. It appears to have been used instead of B.3 especially on bone china products and on the more expensive earthen wares. A simplified version showing only the coronet on a flat base and the word DOULTON was also used.
