Absolutely one of our favorite original designs. Designed by Ron Gillilan who swore after building 3 of these over several years (1 is ours and 2 others sold) he would never build another due to the difficulty and complexity, and he never has. But, his adult son, took on the challenge and spent the last month building this newly completed solid quartersawn and riff sawn umbrella stand. His father is proud as this is our best yet. Will there be another built? We are unsure. This could be the last. We sold one recently and the new owner loves it so Mitch went ahead and made one more.Makes a great place to toss the wet umbrellas as the is a solid hand hammered or beaten copper removable drip pan in the bottom also made by Mitchell, that is 7 inches in diameter.
This is a solid piece made with traditional mortise and tenon and pin details joinery. Heirloom quality.
Great place for canes, walking sticks, fishing rods and even ski poles! 28 inches tall, 13.5 inches in diameter. 15 pounds unpacked weight and will be over packed to insure safe arrival to its new home. Pickup in estacada or delivery to clackamas if you want to pick up at my work is free. Will be shipped fed ex ground so will need to know if going to a residence or business. Our furniture is built one piece at a time, and a family labor of love and appreciation of the arts and crafts era.
