Thissale is for a Miniature 10 Piece Pansy Tea Set.

Thisset is in in excellent ~ pristine condition having no chips, nicks, fleabites,cracks, scratches, crazing, restorations or water sickness. The gold trim isimmaculate with absolutely no loss. The white porcelain background is brightand shiny and the colors are vivid. There are some dimples, both raised andindented, within the porcelain and very minor shelf wear only on the undersideof the serving tray. Both are minor distractions, certainly not problematic andmentioned for accuracy. Please excuse the glare from my camera flash.

This10 piece sets consists of a Tea Pot with Lid, Sugar with Lid, Creamer, 2 Cupsand 2 Saucers with the Master Serving Tray.

Thisdainty set features a gleaming white porcelain tray with double pierced tabhandles decorated with deep purple pansies and the edge of the tray isembellished with gold trim. The other pieces, also decorated with dark purplepansies, are highlighted with pastel lavender shading and are also adorned withgold accents.

Thiswas a gift for my Aunt who adored Pansies. I purchased this at an upscaleAntique Mall in Cashiers, NC in the late 1980’s. This particular mall had abouthalf antiques and half vintage items. This has been packed away since 2005.During the time my Aunt owned this, it was never used, only displayed and wascabinet kept on glass. It is apparent its former owner(s) also took very goodcare of it.

TheTray, Tea Pot, Sugar and Creamer are marked “Golden Crown” with a Gold Crownunderneath that, “E & R”, “Fine China”, and “Made in Germany”. The Cups andSaucers are not marked, likely because there was no room for the backstamp.

Ihave since done a little research on the marking. This was apparently made bythe Ebeling & Reuss Company. Originally the company was Zeh, Ebeling &Reuss beginning in 1886.In 1900, Zeh left the company and ownership remained in the Ebeling & Reuss families.Ronald Rapelje purchased the assets in 1992 and moved Ebeling & Reuss to Allentown, Pennsylvania. The company waseventually sold to the StrathmoreCorporation of Pennsylvania on April 15th 2002.

The shield mark with “GOLDEN CROWN” above the depictionof a crown above “E&R” was filed at the USPTO on July 3, 1956 under serialnumber №·72011474; the mark was registered as №·0660122. I have no idea howlong that mark was used after 1956. This information is courtesy of “PM&M ~Porcelain Marks and More” website. Based on this information, I am making aneducated guess this set was made sometime after 1956, making it Vintage and notAntique.

The measurements are as follows:

Tray:

9 1/4\" side to side x 6 3/4\" front to back

Tea Pot:

4 1/4\" wide from spout to handle x 3\" tallincluding the lid

Sugar:

3\" wide handle to handle x 1 3/4\" tallincluding the lid

Creamer:

2 1/2\" lip to handle x 1 3/4\" tall

Cups:

2\" wide including the handles x 1 1/4\" tall and1 1/4\" diameter top

Saucers:

2 1/4\" diameter x 1/2\" tall x 1\" undersidebase rim

I live in a rural area in the mountains of Western NorthCarolina. There is a 1 day delay on all shipping types USPS offers. I deliverall outgoing packages directly to my Post Office. They have 1 pick-up daily at4:00 pm. Your package goes from my local post office to Greenville, SC. Icannot offer overnight express shipping. Much to my surprise, the local postoffice charges the overnight rate but the parcel actually doesn’t arrive for 2days. If you need overnight service, UPS is an alternative I can check on foryou. Priority mail is supposed to be 2 – 3 business days.

The local post office closes extra days when a holiday isinvolved. If a holiday is on Monday, the post office closes both Friday andSaturday – same with Thanksgiving. I do get mail delivery which is how they getaway with closing the postal location. I have to go down the mountain to my boxfor the mail and they do not pick up parcels.
