ESTATE LIQUIDATION This week, I am listingitems from an antique sterling silvercollection out of an old San Francisco estate. The collector was very partial to Art Nouveau design and there are some extraordinary antiquepiecesin this collection. Be certain to take a look at all mysales for some lovely and uniquecollectibles.
Thislisting is for an exquisite Art Nouveau 800 silver and leather expandable purse. It is European made (marked 800) - probably in the Edwardian era based on its lovely Art Nouveau design of graceful iris or fuchsia flowers. Purse has two levers - one opens the cover and the second opens the expanding leather four-compartment interior. Very, very clever and absolutely charming. Condition wise, the silver does have some dings front and back. And, the bottom hinge may show a repair (although hinge is not compromised in any way). The leather is soft and supple but shows wear and a repair where attached to silver case (see photos). Measures 3 5/8\" by 2\"and 1/2\" deep.
