Eva Turner was born Eva Griffin in New Grenada, South America in 1872.
The Griffin family had moved to San Francisco by 1880.
Eva was the daughter of George B. Griffin who befriended and gave earliest encouragement to Gutzon Borgium. At age twelve she began studying art with Borgium in Los Angeles. she was known for her landscape and Western themed paintings. Eva was a well known artist of her time and was referenced in several art books.
