EXQUISITE ANTIQUE 19thC VICTORIAN ENGRAVED MOTHER OF PEARL CALLING CARD CASE:

Description:

An exquisite and very decorative antique Victorian calling card case with diamond shaped mother of pearl panels, each finely hand engraved with floral decoration, dating to circa 1880.

The hinged lid, with silver coloured vacant plaque to the top, is opened with a push button catch, and the inside is lined with red velvet.

Dimensions:

Width: 7.7 cm or 3 inches

Height: 10.5 cm or 4 1/8 inches

The case is in very good antique condition, without losses to the mother of pearl or restoration. The hinge is strong, and the catch work well. There is some hardened residue around the edge of the small plaque to the top of the lid.Please see the images provided which complement this description.
