I am Lady*Venezia: The majority of my antique textiles are from the Renaissance, Georgian,and the Victorian era. Many are also from the early 1900s. This is a very unique, exceptional and absolutely stunning little antique french court reticule purse from the early 1800s victorian era. It features a very complex, detailed,and ornamental 8-point star design (both sides) that is elaborately embroidered and embellished in metallic/silk,metal trim, rose silk ribbonwork, and french knots. The ivory silk base groundhas delicately separated, but as shown in the photos, what remains isaccented by the french knots, and in some areas the soft linen base can be seen (see photos). Veryornate and beautiful. Black stone tipped kiss-lock snap closure. Alas, the silk lining inside is shattered. Wonderful patination due to age. There may be other minor imperfections I may have missed, but as mentioned above this is common due to age and should be expected.
