This sale is for a most exquisite antique French Victorian delicate cream silk tulle lace trim fragment salvaged from a 19th century wedding bodice.........This measures approximately 16\" x 4\". This is in very good condition aside from a few very tiny thread breaks throughout the lace, which are not even noticeable. There are no other major rips, tears, stains, however, due to its extreme delicacy, it should be handled with the utmost care. The very fine, delicate silk tulle has a very tight weave......the dainty motif throughout is the only thing that gives it some substance, since it is cotton.........so delicate and lovely......I believe this is tambour lace, but not absolutely certain, since lace is not my expertise. I also believe that this has been salvaged from a wedding bodice. I came across lace similar to this approximately a year ago, and it was of the same quality and have never seen it again until now.......the aforementioned lace was from a wedding gown and I can assure one that although I do not believe it is handmade, it has the appearance and is very desirable for one who wishes to embellish doll clothing in which authenticity is desired. I was thrilled to find this dainty, feminine lace which is utterly charming....it is cream in shade......the label inside the bodice was from 22 Rue de Maubeuge, Paris, Robes & Manteaux, Melle Moisseron. This lace has been salvaged from the sleeves.....I will also be listing portions of the sleeve which are of a different pattern, but slightly damaged...........I have taken photos in natural light with no flash...hopefully, one can see the lace\'s delicacy, i.e., its fine weave in pure silk tulle. This is being sold \"AS IS\". All minor flaws are inherent with age and storage and to be expected with something this old, over 100 years.
