AN EXTREMELY RARE AND IMPORTANT LATE 18TH CENTURY CHIPPENDALE PERIOD PAIR OF CAST BRASS \"MIRROR SUPPORTS\" WITH ITS ORIGINAL SCREW BACK IN NICE OLD SURFACE AND PATINA. American or England, Circa 1770-1810 in CAST BRASS.

STRAIGHT FROM A GREAT EARLY CONNECTICUT COLLECTION. THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND PAIR WE HAVE OWNED IN MANY YEARS.

A VERY RARE PAIR OF AMERICAN EAGLE MIRROR SUPPORTS. MIRROR SUPPORTS OF THE LATE 18TH CENTURY ARE EXTREMELY RARE. THEY WERE SCREWED INTO THE WALL AND USED TO PROTECT THE MIRROR FROM FALLING TO THE GROUND IF THE STRING OR WIRE USED FOR HANGING SHOULD FAIL.

Nice old color and patina.
