This sale is for the very elusive figurine called “An Orange Vendor.” The colours on this piece are exceptional – they are deep and dark with a glossy shine. This figurine was only made for nine years. Yet, we can pinpoint the date that this piece was produced as there is the number “15” by the lion. Royal Doulton used a number code from 1928 to 1954. Accordingly, this figurine was produced in 1945.

Back Stamp: It has the Royal Doulton Lion on a crown with the words “Made In England – Royal Doulton – Bone China – England” with the number 15 beside the lion.
It also has the name of the figurine and the HN number written by hand. There is also an initial, which would have been the painter’s.
Condition: The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. As is standard in bone china pieces, there may be small factory flaws such as tiny bits of ash and transfer trapped under the glaze.
