A rare small pantry box which held a gift of figs in the early 19th Century. Cover is stamped with \"New Eleme Figs.\" Measures 2\" Tall x4 7/8ths\" Long x 3\" Wide. Out of a recent Maine sale. Surface is all original and beautifully oxidized to a dry dark primitive appearance. 2 finger laps are tacked with early small nails. Seams are tight. Interior is clean and unpainted. Excellent and well-made antique condition. A great find for any American collection.
