A rare finely tooled brass vessel in the form of a chalice. Circa late 1800 to early 1900.Marked with WMF mark on the bottom of the stand. WMF is the abbreviation for Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik, which in English means Wurtemberg Metalware Factory. WMF was created in 1880, and the tableware and household items produced in around 1900-1910 are extremely popular among collectors because they are considered the best examples of Art Nouveau style, which is also known as Jugendstil in Germany and Secession in Austro-Hungary.
The goblet is in good condition commensurate with age and use, with some oxidation and minor tarnish. All original with no breaks or repairs. On the body it is engraved in German: \"Zur Frdl. Erinnerung a.d. 25 Jahr. Bestand 1885 - 1910\".
