Early German Vintage Halloween Jack o Lantern Pumpkin Paper Mache Small Antique:

Offering a small and very fine antique German Halloweenpumpkin head lantern. This is an actualcandle lantern, with the metal insert to hold the candle in the bottom, withmetal tabs that protrude through the underside of the base. There is even a candle, alas slumped over onits side, still inside. This piece ismarked Germany on the underside. Thepaper mache material is much thinner and harder than more recent paper machepulp. The base is overlaid with a thinpaper or paint layer, as opposed to having the color mixed into the pulp. This is a small lantern and measures about 4½” tall and 5 ¼” across. Has wire bailhandle with holes in good conditionExpected surface wear, with paper flaking at the side seams, especiallyon one side. There is a split at the lipin the surface paper only. Pleaseexamine photos closely. Guaranteed oldand authentic.
