Bishop Stephanos, a Hungarian-born leader of the Eastern Orthodox Catholic Church in the U.S. and Canada, traveled to Central Europe around 1939-1940 and witnessed the persecutionof the Jews in Austria and Czechoslovakia.Three and a half years later, as he states, unable to remain silent, he published this account of what he and others witnessed of the Holocaust.
