Mercury Astronaut and Air Force Pilot Gordon Cooper was one of the Original Mercury 7 Astronauts. He flew twice in space, in the last flight of the Mercury program, a 22 orbit, 34 hour flight. Cooper was the last American to fly alone in space. In August of 1965 Cooper and Pete Conrad would spend eight days in Gemini 5 setting another endurance record at the time for Cooper. Sadly Cooper was passed over future flight assignments and retired from NASA. Cooper passed away in 2004. This is his story. The book is obviously in MINT condition. Published in 2000, the book is long out of print, measures 9 x 6” and is 279 pages in length with photographs.
