Edith HARTMAN, HandwrittenAutograph Album, 1880s, Pennsylvania, along with two old photographs from the Musser Studio, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and C. L. Roshen, in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania (but not Edith Hartman Foltz or her relatives). Size is about 5 in. x 7½ in. This autograph book of Edith Hartman, whichis titled “Paragon Autograph Album,” contains poetry and sentiments from herfriends, dated in 1884. It has 38 pagesof handwritten messages written in ink. Thedates are from 1884 to 1888, with one entry in 1901. One school friend, Katie Blose, said:“Together we have gone to school, Together we have broken the rule, but whocould help it in that old Public school.”Except for one person in Steubenville, Ohio, all of the writers are fromPennsylvania: Altoona, Gettysburg, Hanover, McKeesport, and Pittsburg. Condition: the book has red velvet covers,which are loose, but still attached to the pages; the spine is worn.
