Here is a terrific Emersonivory plaskon mini radio. This is not an ivory painted bakelight but rather the rarer ivory plaskon casing - very sought after by collectors.Radio plugs in and all tubes illuminate but all that can be heard is a moderate background hum. I see one very faint hairline crack on the inside of one of the grill squares. Some slight discoloration on the top of the casing likely from tube heat but absolutely no melt marks on the casing. The screw posts in the rear of the set look very good - no chipped out posts. Correct knobs.The electronics are unrestored. For this reason, please note, you\'re buying this as a non-playing antique.

After collecting radios for 20 years, it\'s time to pare down the 800+ radio collection. I knew this day would come eventually, so for years I had stock piled shipping materials so no one would have to pay a dime for materials. Sadly, I must now acquire the shipping materials and pass along some of that cost to you, but I don\'t want that to deter you from offerding. So, I\'m electing to absorb one-half of the cost of the shipping materials (that\'s materials only, not total shipping cost). I\'m having FedEx package and ship all my radios,and for a 20x20x20 box, FedEx charges $22.50 for the packaging materials (new box, bubble wrap, padded foam). Your portion of the material cost for a 20x20x20 shipped box would end up being $11.00. If the purchased item is a small radio and can be shipped in a smaller box, then the shipping materials cost will be less. For tombstone radios requiring larger boxes, the materials cost will be more. Regardless, I am picking up one-half of the shipping materials cost. Your half of the shipping materials cost will be added onto the shipping charges to your destination to arrive at the total shipping cost, which I will send to you through an invoice.If, by chance, I end up along the way acquiring free packing materials through my own purchases, then I\'ll try to use those first to spare you the cost of the materials. Please disregard the shipping calculator as actual shipping costs are based upon shipping weight and travel distance toyour destination. I\'ll inform you after the sale of the actual shipping costs which will include the shipping materials cost (at 1/2 price), so please wait for my invoice after the sale closes. Since FedEx is both packaging and shipping the purchased item, you are fully coveredif damage were to occur during shipment. Sometimes accidents do happen, and if you received a damaged item, promptly contact me and retain all of the shipping materialsalong with thedamaged item as FedEx will arrange to pick it up from you for their inspection. Everyone please remember that many of these antique radios are 70+ years old and are not to be used as a daily player. To me, they are an art deco decorative item of a time gone by when there was a real effort to combine style and function making many of the radios of this era a piece of table top art. If you wish to do more than visually admire them as an art deco item, you\'ll need to have a competent service electrician evaluate them before you put them into service.
