English Pewter Quart Tankard Measure by Geradin & Watson of London - Circa 1850

Truncated Cone form with low-mid fillet - original escutcheon detail to upper handle join - Crank handle style with \'oozy tongue and pip\' detail and an Attention terminal,andin very good antique used condition with warm silver-gray patina.Please see the photos.Standing 5.8 inches tall and weighing 28.7 oz.

Engraved to the front in a wrigglework cartouche: A Howard Coach & Horses Dover St

Engraved to the top of the handle is a monogram of: AH

The maker\'s touch is very well struck to the interior bottom.Stamped to the left of the upper handle join is this maker\'s proprietary QUART label and stamped to right is what appears to be this maker\'s version of the \'1826 Portcullis\' mark (denoting that this measure conformed to the Imperial Capacity regulations adopted in 1826).Please see photos for all markings.
