English Pewter Quart Tankard Measure by Thomas Philips I (working years 1795 to 1849) of London Circa 1830

Truncated Cone form with mid-fillet and decorated footrim, andin very good antique used condition with neat inconspicuous mending to lines at the upper handle join and with polished silver-gray patina.Please see the photos.Standing 6 inches tall and weighing 26.5 oz.

The maker\'s touch [ TP set within a circular border ] is struck to the interior bottom while well wornhallmarks [ Lion Rampant / Lion Head / Sword / NB]** are struck to the left of the upper handle join, with a Crowned X above and a worn Crowned WR below.

QUART label to the right of the upper handle join with an early capacity verification* for Southampton County [ C * S over H for Hampshire) above and a much later Victorian verification [ VR over Crown over 560 ] for the same jurisdiction. Please see photos for all markings.
