Small silver serving piece either a salt or perhaps a sugar server.The base measures 2½ inches by 2½ inches.Weight is 50 grams.The hallmark on the upper side of the base has the lion passant mark that indicates sterling, the leopard face that indicates that it was made in London, a capital R in the date position which indicates 1892 and the maker\'s mark \"GMJ\" for George Maudsley Jackson who worked for the silver firm Josiah Williams & Co.However, what confuses me is that on the base is a registry mark that says:
\"L & F Cole Cambridge\" with the letter \"E\" in the right side date position which would indicate 1881.Perhaps someone who collects English silver can explain this discrepancy and help identify the piece. So here it is....
