We are quite pleased to offer this monumental Victorian Britannia standard (95.5 % pure silver) Renaissance Revival Flagon.

From Charles & George Fox in 1859.

Classic tapering cylindrical form.

Center with gilt drapery framed Satan masks. Fiendishly detailed. Set within rivet and vine scroll and lush suspended fruit displays. The silver background highlights the gilt Satan beautifully.

Step dome cover with foliate volute thumb piece. Found on fine 17th century tankards. Cascading grape suspended from leaf spout.

Oval and bead strap tapering handle with folded heart shield at end.

Victorian sterling parcel gilt Satan Flagon is 17 1/2 inches weighs 107 (standard) ounces.

This is solid Brittania standard 95.8% pure silver. It is not weighted.

Hallmarked as shown.

In very fine condition. Rich, lustreous sterling and gilt patina throughout. The Satan masks, leaf and floral retain their original hand chased detail. Stands firm on table or museum display shelf. Some loss to gilt as shown, couple lines to shield, scattered dints, most to handle and scuffs.
