We are quite pleased to offer this English sterling silver cobra handle tea kettle on matching stand.

Fashioned after a c1810 Paul Storr design. See Waldron for illustrations.

From Mappin & Webb 1915.

The tea kettle crafted in thick, heavy guage sterling compressed circular form. Elegant petal fluting and gadroon overhang rim, with shell accent.

Cover with raised fruit wood (?) and sterling leaf and flower cap finial.

Boldly cast twin cobra handle. The snakes with scaly surface as real. The cobra set in leaf petal and beaded collar.

Lower kettle with pierced venting.

Atop winged leaf, flower and shell decorated stand. Retains the original chained securing pins, for ease of movement when kettle atop stand. Original burner.

The stand atop shell tip feet.

Never monogrammed.

English cobra handle kettle on stand just under 12 inches and weighs 56 1/2 ounces.

Hallmarked as shown. All hallmarks matching.

In excellent condition. Stands firm on table or serving tray. Handle secure and with rich surface. Interior clean. The cobra and shell work retain original detail. Retains original chained securing pins and burner. Mild wear.
