This is an sale for an original carved Ox Bone lid for probably a vase or flask or vase, possibly a box, its basically circular and diameter 7.8 cm across or diameter.The piece is carved from one section and the 3 birds have what looks to be small ebony or zitan dots inlaid in the eyes, its a very fine quality carving.
The lid was found in an old estate lot some while ago and is over 100 years old, I think its from 1830-1870 in date but could be older, its sold as over 100 years and as 19th century, its not a copy its an original carving and period correct.
If you need a superb lid or just collect carvings i guess its cheap...
