This is an attractive pair of Georgian solid silver berry spoons.They were made by the renowned silversmith Ebenezer Coker in 1748.The spoons are identical in date and design and are beautifully decorated with embossed fruit.The bowls have a crimped edge and are gilt which protects the silver from the acids in fruit.The handles are elaborately engraved back and front.Both spoons have vacant cartouches.These spoons are large and measure 8.2inches in length (approx. 21cm) and have a combined weight of 125 grams.The spoons are in a Victorian fitted box.The inside of the box is in very good condition and the outside in fair condition. The lid and base have come apart and are not attached.The spoons are in pristine condition with good hallmarks.These are quality items, now 267 years old.Please see my photos.
