Exceptional Vintage Modernist Sterling Amethyst Ring, Nordskov Denmark ‘60s:

Pictured below is an exceptional vintage modernist ring in sterling silver and raw amethyst designed by Lisbeth Nordskov (Elisabeth Nordskov Christiansen), Copenhagen, Denmark, circa late ‘60s. Nordskov is still an active and respected designer with a focus on experimental art jewelry; this is an early example of her work. The ring features a sculptural, architectonic design with a round top of crystalline raw amethyst in a round, thick sterling setting; this is raised on a cylindrical shaft off of a plain, flat band. This is a sizeable, substantial and weighty ring – of the highest quality and craftsmanship – with clean modern sculptural lines, great balance and scale, and huge presence on the hand. Measurements: The top of the ring measures about 5/8” in diameter, with about a ¾” rise above the band. The ring is about a US size 5 ½.

Condition: The piece is in excellent used vintage condition, with light surface signs of age and wear, some darkened patina, but no detractors.

Marks: It is signed on the interior of the band with impressed marks, ‘Nordskov C [in stylized script], STERLING, DANMARK.’
