Skilfully hand made it features intricate all over hand chased details including fine Arabic calligraphy, beautiful scrollwork and intricate interlacing strapwork. Interesting stylized fish are depicted in the centre.
There are hallmarks stamped to the underside. These indicate that it was tested in Alexandria in Egypt and declared to be constructed of solid silver of at least 90% purity, similar to the sterling standard.
It is tactile and beautifully proportioned
with a diameter of 234mm.
It is made from a thick gauge of silver and is very heavy at 349g or 12.3oz.
