This is the finest, most unusual set of bakelite/catalin handled knives I\'ve ever seen. Museum quality. I\'ve never seen any that compare. Six knives, two each of three different carvedanimals. Stainless steel blades, made in Solingen, Germany. The knives are about 8-3/4\" in total length. The bakelite/catalin part is 3-1/4\" to 3-1/2\" in length. Each carved animal is about 1-1/4\" long. The handles are three laminated layers -- a solid butterscotch bottom, a green center, and the carved butterscotch top. The stainless steel blade section is about 4-1/2\" long with scenes depicted in gold. The end 1-1/2\" section is serrated. The bakelite handles are 3/8\" thick. They appear to be in mint, never used condition. The only possible flaw I can see is a bit of glue visible above the animals between the first and second sections on one or two of the knives. The box has a few small marks on the outside, which is a green embossed reptile pattern, andhas kind of a melon colored satin interior in mintvintage condition.
