I have for sale this very rare figure the Yankee by royal Worcester. There are a few around post 1990 onwards but this one dated 1886 modelled by James Hadley and in excellent even pristine condition, with no cracks, chips or losses is very rare, With the puce mark and model n0 836 and Worcester impressed mark with the letter x dates it exactly to 1886.A rare opportunity to own a piece of rare royal worcester. This figure is 128 yrs old and I believe was produced just after the American civil war, to commemorate the end of the civil war this is a must for any royal Worcester collector , and a firm investment. The figure comes from Around the world seriescollection. Standing 7 inches high and hehis looking very dapper, all in white with 24 caratguilt neck tie and brimmed hat with hand painted rosy cheeks and a goaty beard You will be very lucky to find another one of these figures in this condition if at all. royal Worcester formed in 1751 byDr john wall in 1862 they began hiring trained sculptors such as Charles toft, james Hadley, in the 1870s they began modelling, james Hadley produced the greatest number and variety of Worcester models, including a number of oriental subjects, middle Eastern figures and the countries of the world series, (this is where this figure is from) james Hadley left Worcester in 1876 and in 1896 he formed his own business with his two sons, james Hadley died in 1903 and royal Worcester bought is business.
