Dioclea wilsoniiis a rare pantropical, purple-flowered liana that grows wild in coastal rainforestsof South America , Hawaiiand Kauai .Climbing woody vines called lianas that twine through the rain forest trees like boa snake constrictors.

Dioclea is a genus of flowering plants in the pea family, Fabaceae. The seeds of these legumes are buoyant drift seeds, and are dispersed by rivers.

The viable seeds of D. wilsonii are a realy rare find , in their native habitat are commonly polished and made into seed necklaces.
