An early homestead stone house find thisPennsylvania quilt in contrary wife or Jacobs ladder pattern. There areseveral pre civil war prints. Initial signed by the maker on back.

c 1860s

A beautiful fabric study of prints with browns, madders and many pre civil war.

Thequilt was found from a stone house estate in Pennsylvania. The family name was Hallman. We have shown some photos of the family homestead farm so you can see where the piece came from. In the barn was a feedsack dated 1862 with family name that I have shown a photo of.

Measures88 x 78inches

Hand quilted 6 stitches per inch with outline and overlapping rings.

Hand pieced. Hand bound. Thin batting.

Condition is wonderful, crisp, never used or washed. Light age spotting. No wear.

Just the way you like to find them for any fine collection.

We have provenance on this piece and will provide that to the new owner.
