FABULOUS 19TH CENTURY HAND CARVED BOXWOOD PICTURE FRAME WITH MIRRORED CORNERS:

A very finely carved early 19th century carved picture frame. The frame is carved of Boxwood and measures about 15 and 1/4 by 13 and 1/4 inches over all.There is a small mirror inset into each corner held in place by four attached carved strips. The frame is extremely tight and one has to look very carefully to see how it was done.The nails on the back, used to hold the image in the frame are forged iron.It is beautifully carved and has not been finished or restored. There is a very tiny leaf missing on one of the strips. It is in otherwise remarkable condition for its age.
