VERY FINE ANTIQUE 19thC GORHAM AMERICAN STERLING SILVER COVERED ENTREE DISH 1895:

For your consideration is aFINE ANTIQUE 19th.C GORHAM AMERICAN STERLING SILVER COVERED ENTREE DISH c.1895
Exquisite and somewhat rare scallopedform with beaded shoulder, rim and base. The dish measures approximately 8-1/2\"(22cm) long, 7\"(17.8cm) across, 3-3/4\"(9.5cm) tall and 4-3/4\" to the top of thefinial. Of course, with the finial removed the lid becomes a second fine serving dish.
The underside carries a full set of clear incised that include:Right facing lion passant, anchor and gothic letter G: Maker mark for last quarter of 19th.C;Crescent moon: Year mark c.1895;Sterling;1; andPattern number 691
The sterling mark on the lid can be found under the finial and it is also marked number 1 on the inside rim.
Total sterling silver weight for the piece is 1011 grams(32.61oz.Tr).
Condition overall is excellent with very minor signs of aging/wear.Other photos available upon request.
