Interesting old 19th Century master violin 2nd half 1800s.

Accurately inlaid purling close to the edges. The table is made of finely grained spruce and the 1-piece back, as well as ribs and neck, is nicely flamed maple. Fingerboard is ebony.The violin shows a repair label from Carl Hammig dated 1912. No open seams or open cracks.Like always checked by our luthiers and by our violin player on playability. It received new setup with newly fitted ebony pegs,ebony tailpiece & ebony chinrest, a new Teller bridge, new soundpost and new strings.These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid playing performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full tonal character of this violin!Beautiful quality instrument in immediate playing condition! Great warm and mature sound - Please see the video & listen to the sound on youtube!Measures aprox.: total 60 cm / 23.6”, body 36 cm / 14.17”, vibrating chord length 33 cm / 13”, weight 482 gr / ~17 oz.
