A fine antique german 18th century baroque violin probably made circa 1750.

Fine 18th century german violin probably made circa 1750, proposed for restoration. A very interesting and very old piece made after Stainer, covered with a luminous golden varnish. The back, made of two pieces of maple, the curl ascending from the center joint, is a pure beauty. The purfling, located very close to the edges, is neatly done, and the corners are well rounded by time. The violin needs artistic restoration, and shows several cracks under the f holes on top. The lower nut is made of bone. The violin has kept its original neck and head. A real wonder, that will be a fantastic baroque instrument once restored.

Upper bouts : 169 mm.

Middle bouts : 115 mm.

Lower bouts : 199 mm.
