A fine old Northwest Coast Tlingit Indian hand carved cedar totem pole dating from the early 1900\'s. The totem is a rather rare model of a an old Story totem pole from Old Wrangel Alaska. This totem follows the image of the original village totem very well. The totem depicts the fisherman in Eagle form at the top, followed by the mythical man named Kayak cwho is disguised as a sea monster, with the fishing lines with the caught salmon dangling on them. The totem stands a respectable 15 1/4\" tall with a base measuring 4\" x 4\". The totem is in very good original condition with a nice aged patina from great age and careful handling.
