FIREBIRD SPEEDWAY RACER

You are offerding on an old open-wheel style Firebird Speedway racer. It is friction operated and made in Japan (Tomiyama, Tomy) in the early 1960s. It is a LARGE size car and measures about 15\" long (37cm). The very colorful red body is in excellent condition and shows only light wear to paint. The red base has a couple of scratches here and there. The car comes with all the four (+ one spare) tires but all of them are broken. I think it can be very difficult to repair them. One of the tire valves is also missing the hat. The car is missing the vinyl driver, one of the chrome hubcaps and all the accessories from the set.

The friction operated motor works perfectly and the car makes a clack-clack sound when you turn the back wheels by your hand. This is a very impressive race car and would be a good candidate for restoration or parts.

The original box is in very good condition but has tears on the other end of the lid and also an old cardboard repair inside it.
