FRED HARMAN WESTERN PAINTINGS Southwest Native American

Renowned artist Fred Harman western prints, signed and showing scenes of the American West.

Add that extra excitement to your Southwest motif with this lot of three prints from the famous Western artist Fred Harman. Two of the paintings display beautiful renditions of Native American life in the Southwest, while the third captures a wagon train forging ahead to their destination.

Fred Harman (February 9, 1902 - January 2, 1982) was an American artist, best known as the artist of Red Ryder, \"America\'s famous fighting cowboy.\" After Harman retired from the strip in 1964, he turned to painting at his Albuquerque studio. He was one of the original 1965 members of the Cowboy Artists of America, along with Joe Beeler, Charlie Dye, John Hampton, and George Phippen; and Harman\'s paintings were included in the first annual exhibition of the Cowboy Artists of America on September 9, 1966, at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.

With the matting, each of the art pieces measures 12 high by 11 inches wide, with the prints themselves measuring 7 inches high by 8 inches wide.

These prints date from the 1940s and 1950s, and bear a slight foxing and fraying at the edges. The corners have some very minor dog ears, but none of this would interfere with the prints once they are framed and displayed. The wagon train print has a slight tear in the cloud just above the butte, but it is hardly noticeable. The lower left hand corner of the wagon train piece has been torn off, but only a 1/4 inch. Fred Harman\'s signature appears on all three pieces and will show when framed as well.

Anyone having a Southwestern motif in their office, studio, business, or home would be proud to show this genuine cowboy artist\'s work.
