American sterling silver Aesthetic 3-D figural cream ladle expertly crafted by Whiting, New York City c. 1870. This stunning work of art has a fabulous cast bird and peach finial mounted on a forked branch. The bird is poised to get the peach, which is mounted to he ends of the fork.The finial is mounted to a three wire, beaded collar mounted handle which splays out to hold a fluted and lobed scalloped edge, gilt, double spouted bowl.This scarce and collectible 3-D design cream or sauce ladle measures 7 3/4\\\" in length and weighs 37 grams or 1.18 Troy ounces. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. The soft, warm, original antique finish and gilding are present, with no buffing or machine polishing. [wb980]
